Default lowering the motorcycle...

whats the negative side of lowering the motorcycle? ive heard people just saying not to lower it, but they never really gave a good reason why. but i would need to lower it because the cbr 600rr are too high for me to have both feet touching the ground.

Just do what makes you feel most confident on the bike, that's whats important.

Unless you're planning to race the bike competitively, or really tear up some backroads, I think you will be just fine if you lower it 1 inch or so. Also try shaving the seat down or even lowering the subframe (i'll look for the link for the company that does this).

I lowered my 07 600rr with the vortex lowering link. it doesn't really feel bad at all. I'm 5'5 and and both palms of my feet touch the ground where as the stock height...i was on my tippy toes. i should post a pic....

Let this be a lesson....don't ride bare-footed.

Why ride a sportbike in the first place if you are going to cut its ***** off... tons of bikes come stock with a really low seat. They just aren't sportbikes.
