hey guys just got a 03' honda cbr 600rr and i NEED to lower it. i wanted to know how could i do this?

I'm asian, short. I know how it feels. I'd actually like to see what good lowering ideas are available.

Shave the seat. Lowering link. Lower the triples.

The best way is to practice practice practice. Any of the above three will worsen the handling of your machine.

Edit - I meant triples, not forks. me

How short are you exactly. I would first try putting your suspension as soft as possible. If you lower it your totally defeating the purpose of the mighty 600rr.

 

I'm 5'3.

just practice. you should be fine at 5"3, although it is quite challenging at first. I am saying this because I have a friend that is of the same height and rides just fine on his bike. But if you must, you will need to buy lowering links for your bike and make sure to lower the front also by raising the forks. gl.

 

Have you tried starting out with just one leg on the ground.

 

My 600rr was raised in the rear and I was okay one legging it. Could barely tiptoe it; usually came to a stop and dropped it to one foot.

P.s. The 600rr seat isn't bad at all, some peoples' asses are just too pampered.

I really, really tried to ride with the stock seat. I'm going to order a Corbin when I get back from Japan. Edwin(Homeskillet) said that he's never seen anyone change positions so much during a ride. My *** just can't take it!

Yes, but he is a pro-rider...this guy obviously isn't.

 

Yeah, point taken. The stoplight balance might be a bit much for a new rider on a tall bike.

 

Ok, I just got a 2009 cbr 600rr and I have to have it lowered. I am only 5'2" and only weight 115, so I can't tell you anything except what I know. I have a 2"-4" loweering kit and have the front forks lowered. I can not flat foot it without but can put everything but my heels down on both feet.
