Default Dry ice on crank pulley bolt?

I just moved into an apartment and I am very limited to what I can use to remove this bolt. I have been using a 3ft breaker bar on it as the motor is on an engine stand in the room.

I know that people suggested running the motor for a short period of time so it heats up and slightly expands the crank before the bolt to help it come out. My question is that if I try it the other way around and freeze the bolt on the crank pulley with dry-ice will this act in the same way and shrink it to help it come loose?

I really need this thing off as me and my roomate hung on the breaker bar and it didnt budge, not to mention there is only so much pounding my neighbors can take as im in an apartment...worst case I may have to take the block to a shop and have them use an impact gun but since im not on the first floor id like to have that be a last resort...any input is appreciated, thanks

I don't know if that would work, it's worth a try though, I see heat being more effective and quick. It's worth a shot if it's a last resort and you don't mind holding the ice there for a long period of time.

Have you tried useing a heat gun? I have a gun that goes up to 1200* I believe and if you were to first freeze the bolt and then quickly heat it, that might shock it into submission.

I just used a chain wrench, with breaker bar and a 3foot cheater bar it spun right loose...... now it's hard to say if it wasn't loosened from the electric impacter I hit it with (all I have and it didn't do squat).... And NO the chain didn't do any damage to the pulley groves, I checked.

I dont have access to a torch right now and me and my roomate had both of our body weight bouncing on a 3ft breaker bar so the honda tool isnt going to be able to help...It is obvious the previous owner had trouble with it also because before he took the block out he cut the timing belt cover to remove the motor mount and he cut the timing belt straight in half, so who knows if this thing has ever even been off in its lifetime
