Default **The Definitive way to extract Valve Seals**

I've seen dozens of threads where people suggest that you buy $20-80 tools to get them out. They'll still not work as well as the following method.

I can't take credit for this idea, but out of so so many threads this only came up twice. The two people who suggested this were our very own lude98SH, and Amy. All out lude bro's and sis' to know this.

The easiest way to get the valve seals out is to first use a heat gun on them. Mine has 600* and 1200* settings. I just used the 1200* setting until I saw a little smoke. After that, take your needle nose pliers and pull/wiggle them out like you normally would. This is an absolutely painless way to get the job done..just don't burn yourself .

Interesting... I bought the Snap-On tool and that got me nowhere haha. I'll have to give this one a try next time around.

those snap on pliers didnt help me either. But when i used them along with a heat gun they came right off. Someone posted this awhile back in one of the forums but i dont think it was the lude forum.

Dude you need to come teach me & marcus. We must really suck. It took us like 5 minutes per seal with the head in the car. I guess it was slightly faster when we did it out of the car with the valves out.

This works. I've decided there is no way to remove a valve seal without damaging it, so that means the goal becomes removing them without damaging the guide or wasting time. I actually use a propane torch set very low and some needle nose pliers.
