Default need some guidance on rebuild, then turbo d16z6

well after 3 long years of beating on my car its finally blown up. so here my plans

re-build, all performance parts ect. oem specs
then turbo kit.

now my question is, is it better to rebuild and break the motor in before boosting? or is it better to do it all at once and let everything break in together?

and any advice on parts? whats strongest, best performing, affordable?

thanks for any info.

Put it all togather and break it on the dyno.

a simple rebuild with forged pistons and some rods like eagle or scat even will be good. try and use oem if you can for bearings and gaskets and crap. if youd like a cam like the zex or crower and perhaps skunk or blox intake manifold will be a nice addition as well. for that singe cam you def. need aftermarket headstuds

break it in whichever way you know the tune will be best. if you have a nice turbo map then break it in with boost. if you dont then break it in na. all you really need to do for break in isto start up and run it at like 2-3k rpms for 10-15 min until it comes up to temp and the fan starts to cycle. then change the oil and let it cool down all the way. start it back up and if the tune is good you can start putting load on the motor right away.

try and engine brake as much as possible, and let the motor slow u down instead of the brakes, it helps with ring seating. i broke my last motor in like that. i was flooring it up toward redline with around 100 miles, and was on the dyno making over 300hp with about 350 miles.

and some kind of turbo kit

i bought a 97 hatch back as a dd so i have plently of time to finish it. thats why my plans are kinda bigger than they were before it was runnin. but very good info. thanks
