Default Internals for D16Z6

Now that it looks as though I might have an extra one lying around I want to start building on it. I am eventually wanting to go turbo on this but there were some questions I had first. Are there possible cams/pistons/rods that are available that will work with all motor/turbo? I would really hate to build this motor with all motor parts then have to go back and change them out later for turbo parts. If I could get some help it will be appreciated. Thanks

The choice of rods and bearing wont matter.

Oem or Acl bearing
Eagle or Manley rods

Also, both FI or all motor tells me that you will be high up in the rpm's so chose a good valve/spring/retainer that will handle the higher rpms.

Ferrea/skunk2/zex just to name a few.

Now the cam and the piston will be the difference. Generally you want a lower compression piston for b00st and a higher compression for all motor. Also with the cam, it depends on the application/duration etc.

A good headstud set, ARP or Oem or GE will be fine.

And tuning is key.

You could, but it'd be weak.

I think Jim Truett on this site runs somewhere in the neighborhood of 10.5:1 compression on top of 10lbs of boost on stock internals with no issues. I think he's pushing like 270hp out of that thing too.

how much weaker would it be? since the stock cr is 9.4 or something like that and you drop to 9.0, will that really make a significant difference?

Im building a b00sted motor but it'll be NA with the stock cam until i can afford to b00st it. I also went with 75.5mm no STD piston.
