Default is smoking common in turbo cars?

k so i just got my car tuned at 7.8psi its a 94 gsr motor with 125k miles.the motor has been maintained good throughout its life.it was tuned uncapped and now with the exhaust back on it kinda smokes after u rev it and the revs come down and also when i shift after wot.my tuner say the map was made a little on the richer side.could putting the exhaust on make any difference?I didnt have time to do a compression/leakdown test yet.but just wondering if a little smoke it common in a turbo set up?
plugs set at .30 and fuel pressure is around 57psi

parts list

walbro 255
aem fuel filter
rc 750 injectors
turbonetics t3/t4
blox style manifold
cheap wastegate
blitz bov
exedy stage 2 3 puck clutch
stock motor
tuned on chrome.

so is this smoke anything to worry about?

Whats the color of the smoke?

If its black, smile and enjoy your turbo'd car.
My Teg had a bit of a over-fueling issue at idle and would make a black spot on the pavement 3' behind it on a cold start

Yes, putting the exhaust on after the tune will make a difference.

We need to know what color the smoke is. Black, white or blue?

Black is ok but too much black will fowl the plugs.

Our turboed race car does not smoke.

If the smoke is black, your more than likely running too rich. Like 92si said, too much will foul your plugs.

Any reason for the 750cc injectors? They seem a little big for what you're trying to accomplish...

Also, if the smoke is THAT bad, and it is from running too rich...you will wash out your piston rings.

you said it smokes AFTER you rev it and the revs are coming down or between shifts. my car does the same thing and i think i have heard other people saying that with crome. my a/f is 11.5 under boost, as soon as i let off it goes to 10 for a second before fuel cut. it also goes to 10 between shifts. i think this is a common problem with crome and its not a big deal, you just get that puff of smoke.

Smoking in turbo cars is common, smoking is common in all cars, I see people doing it all the time, just be careful not to flick the butt out the window because it is a hefty fine.

yup prolly just that then.even wen tuning when i was monitoring the a/f it seems to alter and adjust after the gas was let off.i wont worry then.i mean its only 7.8psi...before that i was running 3-4 psi on a fmu and wasn't smoking.so must be a lil rich.as for what color smoke comes out.its hard to tell.its not chipped black like a ford f350 on the throttle but it s greyish whitish...but it does have the puff after shifts and when the revs come down after that it doesn't really smoke at least not very noticably like the puff that comes out...but damn i guess the exedy stage 2 3 puck aint holding up.time to go to a stage 4 at least.but as for the 750cc injector question asked above..its for just incase i build the block and boost around 12-16 psi later.maybe like 450-490hp after i do a minor build up on the block and get some cams and a victor x.but thanks for the info guyx.
