ls vtec 15 psi "46 trim'?
has anyone had experience with a 46 trim compressor wheel? iv got a fully built ls vtec that im currently boosting 10psi on with a 60 trim to4e and its really laggy. i was thinking about the 50 trim but at 15 psi this 46 trim i found looks to be really good.
my setup will be a daily driver and the track a few times a year. thanks

a 60 trim should not be really laggy on an lsvtec.
if you want a turbo that has full spool at like 3k it will **** out up top.

doing all the calcs my motor will flow 40lbs/min at 15psi (or 2.02 pressure ratio) if you look at compressor map that turbo looks great. im just asking if anyone has ever used it before?

Yes, used them before. they were very good for D-series and some LSs, but not for an LS/VTEC. the VTEC head is VERY efficient, even moreso than the "compressor map" wants to let on. Remember, Compressor maps are only the START of understanding which turbo "fits"

Agreed. I'd look into your hotside, exhaust setup, timing, and afr for the source of lagginess. I have the 40 trim on an aircooled vw and like it. However, while the smaller e wheels are great for stockish d-series and such, your current wheel is fine for the application and there is likely another cause for the lagginess.

I run a t3/t4oe precission 50 trim
Compressor Wheel Dia.: 54mm
Compressor Wheel Inducer: 2.123"
Compressor Wheel Exducer: 3.000"
Compressor Wheel Trim: 50
Turbine A/R Ratio: .63
Turbine Wheel Style: T31
Turbine Wheel Inducer: 2.559"
Turbine Wheel Exducer: 2.228"
I did alot of looking around before i decided to buy. I didn't want to jump on the 60trim band wagon. The 50 trim is more effecent that the 57 and has a better power band than the 60. I am currently running mine 14 psi of the gate. Its very responsive and it hasn't let me down. The only other turbo i would run on my setup is a gt3076r.

if you want a better spool time your going to sacrific top end and vise verse thats just the way it is.
for a daily driver thats going to see the track less then 10 times a year, you probably want a bit smaller turbo so that you get that nice instant kick on the street where you need it.
sadly to say for that your not going to be the fastest kid in town but honestly who cares, a street car should be fun to drive, whats the point of having 400whp past 6K if you only see past 6K once a day or less?
but before you go swapping out your turbo check a few things first
are you sure theres not a boost leak anywhere?
what type of boost control are you using if your running of the gate your spool up is going to be slower remember, a good EBC can fix that.
have you looked into a similar sized BB like mention above?
theres lot of things that can attribute to a slow/laggy response time your turbo isn't way oversized for your application or anything so I would look into those before getting a new turbo.

You didn't "cheapen" out. The 60-1 can still be a great combination depending upon the use. You're ok.
