Default 50 vs 57

With a t3/t04e turbo what is the difference between the 50 trim and 57 trim? besides its bigger.

57 trim flows more? but less effiecent?

50 trim flow less?

what is a better turbo for a LS shooting for 300 whp on pump and 400 on race fuel?

I've seen 50 trims make well over 450whp on ls/vtec's in the 25psi range. Can't go wrong with either!

I personally have the 50 trim, but ive also ridden in cars with the 57 trim. i personally prefer the response of the 50 trim more. it just seems to suit my b16 better

I've got the same turbo.

406.8 @ 21psi.

I think with a few extra mods, thats with a stock intake mani.

I think upping the boost and a few more supporting mods, I can do close to 475whp w/it...

I say 60 trim. Why loose the extra flow with the 57, and 50, and a marginal decrease in lag?

Yeah I have been thinking about a 50 trim. I have a 57 trim on a B16a2 and I don't see full boost (16 psi) until around 5300. Is this normal, anyone? I have heard of LS motors on here hitting full boost around 4300. I don't know if people are exagerating or what, but that seems really fast compared to mine.

50 trim precision(.63 A/R) on my ls/vtec, 10 psi by 4700

2.5" downpipe, 2.25" exhaust

Also: I have read on more than one occasion that the 50 trim compressor wheel in the SC50 is very efficient, more so than the 57 trim.

Whats the turbine housing A/R? The turbine housing size has a big effect on spool time.
