No. The compressor on a DOHC is made by Nippondenso. The compressor on a SOHC is made by Sanden. The condenser is the same on both.

If you are using a SOHC compressor on a B18 block, you only need to change the a/c bracket to one from a del sol or crv.

If you want to use the DOHC compressor, you need to change out suction and discharge hoses. A lot more work involved as you have to drain refrigerant, change hoses, evacuate system, recharge system.

so you can use a SOHC compressor on a DOHC block? So all in all an AC system out of a 2000 civic EX can bolt right up to my swapped motor?

Yes, but you need the a/c bracket from a crv in order for the compressor/bracket assembly to bolt on to your block.

it will work .just need a lot of patient to do the little modification.like twist the tube to fit into gsr compressor

it has nothing to do with the manufacturer and everything to do with size.
the DOHC compressor is aolt bigger than the SOHC and bolt up different.

and when you mention delsol bracket, you should specify. 96-97 DOHC del sols use the same exact compressor integras use. the 94-95 DOHC del sol uses the compresors that the civic's and crv's use.

it would be best that if you are goig to give this kind of advice that you speify the part#, that way there is no confusion.

del sol compressor mount bracet part #38930-P54-000
crv compressor mount bracet part #38930-P7J-000

oddly they are the same bracket, but for some reason honda has the crv bracket at a lower price.

not to mention, you will have to have the b-series pulley set up as well, it mounts to the bracket.

yeah, it will work, but it's 10X easier to just change the bracket.

yeah i couldnt find the right bracket in such a short time other than spend $100 to buy a new one from dealer and my buddy gave me a GSR ac compressor for free.because p30 bracket came with the swap.so i might as well just utilize it
