D-series AC compressor work on a b16a2 block? 97 dx engine
I thought I had read that you did not have to disconnect the AC compressor on hybridgarage. I had assumed this had meant that I did not need to switch AC compressors. Now I am trying to bolt the compressor to the bseries mount, and the bolts are not lining up with the holes. Is this normal?
Also, if I need to switch the compressor is there any way to do it without discharging the system without a refrigerant recovery machine? I don't have on in my garage...
Thanks guys.

Unbolt the AC compressor. Get some wire or string and tie it up to the radiator support to prevent damaging the lines when swapping in the B-series motor.
Now get a '94-'95 DOHC VTEC Del Sol AC compressor and the D-series (Civic) AC compressor will bolt right up and allow you to run AC with an OEM fit. It is the AC bracket with P54 in the part number. There have been some misinformation posted regarding this topic. The information I am giving you here is factual and comes from experience.
You can also use the JDM aluminum AC bracket from an ITR. I wrote an article on how to use that bracket. You will need to drill a hole and tap threads in a few other holes but it can be done relatively easily. Does anybody have that URL or article saved?
