Default 94 Civic EX Gauge Cluster Help Needed

Long time reader, first time poster.

Anyway. I seem to be having a problem with my 94 civic ex. Sometimes when I turn the headlights on, the lighting inside of my gauge cluster goes pitch black and won't work at all. I don't know if it's a short in the wiring or what, since I haven't pulled the whole cluster out and inspected it. (hoping someone else had this issue before and a solution)

Other times that it happens, if I push in the dimmer switch and hold it in for an extended amount of time the lights come back on.

any ideas? any solutions? thanks in advance

Could be as simple as loose/bad connections, to blown bulbs. No need to get a new one unless you dont feel like getting all of the above tken care of.

i use to have the same problem... same car to...
i found out it was the switch that turns the lights on/off. like if it happens just slowly move the switch for the lights towards you and itll light back up... one day i just hit it and it stopped doing it, lol weird.. but yea actually worked...

i'm going to try pulling the dimmer cluster out today and seeing if it's frayed or something dumb like that.

hopefully it'll be an easy fix
