Gauge Cluster Problem
For some odd reason my temperature gauge keeps jumping. I pulled over and let the car sit a bit to see if it's overheating but there are no signs of it. I then drove for a little longer and the needle on the temperature still jumps. After I kept on driving all my needles except the gas needle jumped. My freaking speedometer was jumping and it was at like 110mph I was like wtf!?!?!?! when really I was going 40mph. Can anyone explain why this is happening? Is it probably because I have a short somewhere?
Btw the gauge cluster is factory EX since I do own an EX Civic

Re: Gauge Cluster Problem (Racersky)
I have an EX cluster in my 98 Hatch and the same thing happened to me too, but it was after I ran into a puddle of water. Check to see if the speedometer fuse is blown, and if it is then replace it. If it blows again then you have a short somewhere (probably in the engine wiring harness, around the intake manifold...that's where mine was.) If you don't have a scan tool, I would suggest taking it the shop or Honda dealer and they'll fix for you. It'll probably cost you around $140 for a diagnostic and to fix the short. I hope that helps. Good luck.
