Hi all, I have a 1994 Civic ex 2door, and it was converted to a mt before I bought it. They never changed the instrument cluster, so you always drove around with the light stick in park while you were shifting lol.

I decided to change that one day... I bought a junk cluster and took out the auto gauge and swapped it with the mt gauge. Everything worked fine, everything lit up the way it should, etc. BUT, as I tried the turn signals, they would not work. If I hit the 4 ways they'd work.

Does it have to do with my turn signal switch? Or does it have to do with the cluster? I unplugged the cluster and tried to hit the switch again and nothing happened. Right before I plugged in the cluster I accidently hit the switch and it went off. But once I plugged in the cluster it would no longer work. Do I have to take apart the steering column and make sure everything works? Or am I missing something here... I'm a noob to the Honda world so I'm definitely learning a lot here.

You should just change the whole cluster out to a manual one period.

Do the actual turn signals work and only the turn signal indicators in the cluster don't work?

When I hit the left or right turn signal, nothing works, at all. When I hit the 4 way, everything works, including the instrument cluster

That's not a cluster problem. It's a turn signal problem. Start by checking the turn signal fuse in the dash fuse box ---> 10A dash fuse 15.

Also test the hazard and combination switches:

I removed the fuse and put it back in, I guess it reset itself because now it works haha.

You're not a retard. That was a weird situation and you asked a legitimate question. Most people just swap the whole gauge cluster so I doubt many have the same problem.

I exaggerate a lot, so it was kind of a joke, but you're right, some do just end up changing the whole cluster. I took everything out, and figured out how everything worked, including the tachometer. I learned a lot today, and now I've got a sweet ride cruizin' through town. Check out my garage and you'll see her.
