How do I know if my water pump is going bad?
I've noticed that when I drive for more than 30 min my temp will go higher than normal. I flushed my coolant and had the same results. My fan is wired to the ignition so it's on whenever my key is in the "ON" position. My car still overheats but it's not that bad yet now since the temp does go down when I turn on the heater. But i do want to correct this problem early before anything else happens. Has anyone had this problem or know what to do?
it will be easier to check your thermostat first, underneath the throttle body side of the intake manifold. i would replace that first, if no improvements, then i would check the water pump. it should not be too easy to turn, if you hold it close you should be able to hear it squeak when it turns. what motor?

You can also go to a local radiator shop. Out here we have a place called Radiator Land that does a complete check and tell what is wrong for $25 USD.
i wish i could run 2 bars of boost. actually i wish i could run a half bar. or a half of a half. or a half of a half of a half

My car does this same thing! Did you ever find out what the problem is?
I just did a search, and this came up, so i decided to post.
I have a new thermostat, so that shouldnt be the problem. My guess is it's either the radiator of water pump.

your fan is on all the time?is the fan blowing towards the front of the car or into the car....if it's blowing away from it you should put a switch on your fan to turn it off during highway driving...
Holy Post Revival!! This was 2 yrs ago. Well, since then I've swapped in another B16A in the hatch and found out it was the thermostat that was crusted up. btw, the fan blows towards the motor.
