what is the best avaiable tranny for a y8?
jw i dont know much about trannys and i just wanted to kno if there was a better one out there for the d16y8...i kno gearing makes a huge difference thats y tegs r as fast as they are.

y8 tranny is the shorter of the sohc trannies...and any teg with a stock ls and ls trans is far from fast

You've got a pretty good transmission for the D's already right there. The only real step up I may see is mixing/matching gears. Otherwise, from what I've seen (don't quote me on this), is that the Z6, D15B VTEC, and Y8 transmissions have the shortest ratios for the D, but are comparably, nearly the same.

send your tranny out and get one installed or learn how to do it yourself. mista bone (transzex on d-series.org) installs obx lsd and refurbishes them for a good price... its still pretty expensive though.
