any diffrence between a z6 znd y8 tranny?
i'm currently building up a new motor for my ex and i'm going to use a y8 block and a i want to use the z6 tranny. the guy selling me the y8 block claims it won't bolt up, i'm pretty sure they will but i need a second opion , thanks

They are interchangable.
Only main differences are that the 1996-up trannies have steel shift forks and neglibible differences in gear ratios on one or two gears.
none of this affects interchangability though - Z6 trannies bolt to Y8 blocks, and Y8 trannies bolt to Z6 blocks.
All SOHC d series trannies from 1992-2000 are swappable regardless of engine - 1.5L, 1.6L, etc.
