Default k20 turbo

hey guys im going to be purchasing a type-s pretty soon....im going to go turbo but am wondering how much it would cost to put pistons, and rods in it and how much power it can handle.... or can i do it myself. I thought you maybe had to get it balanced but wasnt for sure so just wondering if i can get some feedback. Thanks guys

how much power you looking to make? the stock motor can handle a lot of power... there a plenty of guys that have made 400+ on the stock motor with no problems.

well you can do most of it yourself just depends on how much you know about cars in general and if you have to right tools and skills to work on your own car ... besides that the stock k series can take a pretty good beating and if you turbo it you dont have to worry about putting in pistons and connecting rods right away ... im sure you can boost a good 20+ psi, have a k-pro, and a set of falken tires and end up running pretty nice on the track ... which brand you looking for when it comes to those pistons and rods ???

There's alot of questions that come to mind; Is this your daily driver? Can it be down for an extended period of time while being built? What are your power goals? Were you wanting a kit or were you planning on piecing it together?

On a GReddy kit with upgraded oil lines and a full 3 inch downpipe/exhaust on 10psi you could make a good 300ish whp. Although the T517Z turbo that comes in the kit is a bit smaller than some in other kits...

I'd love to know where he got a Full-Race kit for 3-4k?? More like 5-6k and worth all of it.

HAHA Vitarra pistons are not a brand, them come out of a Suzuki Vitarra, they only fit on a d series engine, and there just a little stronger than stock. the stock k20 will handle alot of abuse you just NEED a good tune!

Do you know a place online where you could get such a downpipe? I have a Greddy boosted EP and i could never find anything. I've tried looking for a place around my area that could fab one for me but i haven't had any luck.

Contact natedogcreations.com They are the only place online that makes a 3" downpipe that is bolt on for the greddy kit. Lots of people on clubrsx run that downpipe with the greddy kit. They are very good quality to. They run in the 350 dollar price range.

IMO you can do alot with all motor aps with the k20 but there are alot of good turbo kits out there and you can make mad power without having to build it right away
