Comparo - Mem Fab vs. Password CF Intake
Ok guys, so I know I want to buy one of these intakes, but I'm a little unsure of which one to get. They both look good, but I'd like to get some info to compare the overall size of the filter, diameters of tube at different ends, rough length, thickness, and overall finish inside the tube. One main thing that I will note is that password has a dyno sheet provided on their site which is def. nice. These graphs though as I've seen before can kinda be skewed at times, but I think the gains are a def. possibility.
Sounds kinda like alot of questions for something that some people would say is worthless. I'm not going to debate whether its worthless or not so PLEASE DON'T POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOUR GOING TO SAY INTAKES ARE WORTHLESS.
I'm just merely looking for maybe some technically minded people that have experience w/ these intakes. Clearly, the filter size has the potential to effect performance, and from what I know about fluids, there could be an effect of how easily the filters can take in air depending on the design. This is one of the clear differences that I see in the memory fab as compared to the password. Whether this spiral shape creates negligible gains or not, I dunno. Also, I know that the finish of the inside of the intake can def. effect the ease of flow in the pipe. The overall length and change in diameters is something that I will try to analyze a little more w/ fluids analysis.
Anyone have any thoughts relating to what I've started? The more technical the better so...

I'll tell you my experience with a LOT of air intakes over the years.. The J's Racing and its knockoff, Password CF intake, are garbage, and while they look cool, they don't do a whole hell of a lot, compared to the other options on the market. Ignore their biased (and possibly rigged) dyno chart. I don't sell any air intakes, and can only tell you that the best intake I've ever tested on a variety of cars, was the AEM ITR 3" cold air intake. It outperformed every intake I compared it to. I own a dyno, and randomly test products for the fun of it..
hm.. good point. Well the main reason I am looking into the cf intakes is to see if I can get something that does have such issues w/ heat soak. I'll be honest though, I am a little biased since they do look cool. The main thing I'd like to see is an unbiased dyno of the cf intake. I've seen the carbon fiber intake manifold that is being sold on here and from the results that they provided, there was a dramatic difference in overall intake temperatures.
One thing that I just kinda though about in reference to possible roughness on the intake track is to just wet sand if possible to remove all the roughness. Besides polishing, wet sanding is probably the smoothest surface finish that I can think of.
