Default Does intake filter size matter?

The other day I seen a guy who has a d16z6 with a giant k&n cone filter on it, considerably used for engines the size of 7.3L max. the length of it was 9" and the base diameter was 6".

my question was is it better to have a bigger air intake filter for more air flow? especially since we're dealing with a 1.6L?

please reply with any ideas you guys have, thanks.

A filter like that is EXTREME overkill for a four banger.

The size doesn't make much of a difference, especially when you are considering power.

i use a 7" long by 5" around K&N cone filter and love it. looks nice having a huge filter to fill the intake to fender corner gap.

Theres nothing wrong with a performance drop-in filter for your stock box.
Why waste money on SRI and CAI's?

no, this was not a filter for the stock box.... it was a large K&N filter possibly the size of your head. take a look:

My god, I'm going to run a small K&N air filter for my turbo civic because of space constraints..

I put my trucks K&N on only because i don;t have the truck anymore and my car had to intake tubing or box. That thing kills my engine with heat soak.

i decided to use the larger filter [k&n re-0810]. came out pretty decent, the sound is very enjoyable. the pic on the left is how the bay looked when i got it. please dont flame the b7 im currently parting together for a z6 mini-me. thanks.
