Default Boost Gauge not reading accurately!!!

My Setup:

Stock b16a2
t3/t4 turbo .48/a/r .63
tial 38mm wastegate (0.6 bar)
Precision 350hp FMIC
P-Fab Turbo Manifold
2.5' Downpipe--> 2.25 HKS catback exhaust
Hallman Boost Controller (set to the minimum level possible)
RC 550 Injectors
Vortech BOV
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
P06 W/ Crome basemap

My boost gauge will not read over 3psi even though my wastegate is a 0.6 bar (8.70psi). I have the gauge vacuum line running to the intake manifold...Any ideas of what could be wrong??? Even when I turn the boost controller up it doesn't go over 3psi but the car feels faster... HELP ME PLEASE!!!

um get a new gauge maybe?

not that hard to figure out.

if you know its makin more boost but dosent register on gauge the only things it could be are a improper connection, leak to gauge or kink/restriction in line to gauge.

the gauge works fine....literally was in my cousins boosted car a week ago reading 7psi. I'll check for any messed up connections at the back of the gauge itself.

If it was working before then there must some leak somewhere or the line you are using must have something stuck in the line. Or just get a different boost gauge. What kind of boost gauge is it?

perhaps you have a humonguos boost leak and are only making 3psi. and you only feel faster because your mind is playing tricks on you. go to a dyno...

seriously.. check your connections and your lines. you don't need "any other ideas". that's all there is to it.

Boost leak somewhere, check everywhere first. Or make sure theres no kinks or anything in the like running to the guage.

you basically have 4 options as i see it

1. Boost gauge is broken...its an Autometer so it can break
2. You have a boost leak somewhere in the system
3. The line leading to the boost gauge is kinked or the gauge is stuck
4. Somehow your car isn't building anymore boost...possibly a fire ring or boost controller problem

1. If it was broken, would the vacuum still read??
2. Gonna re-check everything when I get home.
3. The line to the boost gauge will also be checked once I get home.
4. What is a fire ring?? Please explain....doesn't sound good!

Also, can a boost controller take the boost below the wastegate bar (.6)? In other words, can the boost controller take me lower than the 8.70 psi??

If you want a quicker way to check it put on a boost cut at like 4psi and see if the car hits it.

I'd borrow someone else's known working boost gauge and try that. Prolly bad gauge imo. And yes I read it came off a working car a week ago.

Thanks guys a million....not sure why the gauge wasn't reading over 4psi....but I got tuned and made 216whp with 154tq @ 7psi.....I was happy because the timing was low and the tune was very very conservative. I also have 2 major boost leaks at the manifold (seems warped) and another one at the downpipe flange. The tune was rushed and it was dynoed at 98 degrees.

No. A controller's minimum level is determined by the wastegate spring
