95 GSR INTEGRA KNOCK SENSOR PROBLEMS!!
okay, my Check engine light keeps turning on when my car warms up. Its code 23. Its annoying iv been fighting this problem for almost a year an im going nuts.
Okay my car go'es into limp mode when my Temp Gauge is in the middle. It will not trip a code if its below the middle of my gauge. My car turns into a total slug when it trips that code!!
I disconected my knock sensor an it still did the same thing, when my motor came up to temp it went into limp mode with a code 23! but was fine untill it came up to temp. so maybe there is another sensor that needs attenion?!
Anyone please through out any advice/hints/ideas things i can buy, links anything!!
iv searched an searched day after day. week after week........ please help.
Here are some ideas iv kicked around with some friends that could cause this, an i have played with all of them, maybe i did not do it right tho.
-CAM TIMING?
-IGNITION TIMING?
-maybe my head is toast?
anyone know how any of that could cause cel 23??
I even tryed my friends ECU for a few weeks an still same issue! gurr!
an when that light kicks on my car really really really really slows down. The only way i can get my ride to run decent is if i have my Dizzy retarted all the way, meaning twisted all the way back twords the fire wall.
ANY HELP/IDEAS, THOUGHTS, anything would be cool. Maybe its cam timing??

The code for Knock sensor does not trip unless there is a problem with your knock sensor. If you are getting code 23 it means you have a faulty sensor and not that your car is knocking. Is this a swap?
Woot for a problem over a year and still not fixed. Hey here is a smart idea. Spend some money and take it to acura/honda dealership where they can hook up your car to their diagnostic machine and chances are... they'll tell you what's wrong.
Ohh wait wait.... that involves spending money and that's just not the internet way of doing things is it? Give your head a shake and cure the problem by spending a few bucks. Surely you've saved a few $$ over the year by donating sperm? I hope so because you're too dumb to have kids.

It has bad ignition spark knock as well. Would me beeing off a tooth on my cam timing cause these sysmptoms?

last night i re-checked my cam timing. I noticed that when #1 pistion is all the way up at TDC an i have my cams pointed up, my marks dont really line up. Like, my crank mark lined up fine, but my cam arrows pointing up my marks on the cam that are supposed to be acrosss from eachother are not like the pictures show.
When i try and line up my cam gear marks across from eachother, my arrows are not streaght up, they are off the the side a little. Could this be feeding my issue?
Again, my car is really really realy under powered, an is a total slug. It is ping'n, an has little power till v-tec. Maybe bent valves?

okay, turned out my knock sensor was NOT HOOKE UP AT ALL!! gurr! the person i bought the car from has a different motor bay harness iguess. insted of it being a single wire plug to the knock there was to wires runnig to the knock sensor, an traced the knock sensor wire from the ecu to the engine bay harness an it was never hooked up. so, now thats hooked up my check engine light is no longer on, but my motor is still luggish as hell. Like to bottem end rpm an its like its not getting fuel delivery or somthing. I adusted my throttle p. sensor in my throttle body. an that made it a little better.
I do have a vafc2 thats hooked up right im 99.99% sure b/c iv hooked up atlest 12 for my friends an they have all worked great, an been dynoed an cehck by local shops. so yeah.
Is there any other sensors i should check for my lugg issue?
What sensor would make my car run like ***? Some said it looks like i might have a D-series map sensor maybe thats a issue?
any comments or ideas or thooughts & links would help out guys/girls. My car is betting better tho.
