I've got a gsr swap in my crx and the knock sensor code comes on randomly, but only late night when its cold. I'm wondering if it's a fault knock sensor or is my motor really knocking?

I've erased the code and held rpms between 3000-4000 for 10 seconds, but the code does not come up.

Any help would be appreciated

 

Checked ignition timing ? have you done anything to the car recently

 

Yeah ignition timing is at 16 btdc and actual timing is all lined up. Haven't done anything internally to the motor yet, only plugs wires cap and rotor. And normal oil changes.

 

could be the sensor it's self, only does it at night under load ? and when cold. you're using 91/93 right ?

 

I think the code came up once during the day but always when my car has been sitting for a while under load. And yes im running 91

 

I have two gsrs that come up with a cel for the knock sensor when warmed up.

It's not a limp mode cel, so it doesn't affect anything.
I'd just disable the sensor if you have a chipped ecu.

 

Yeah, mine doesn't go into limp mode either. Chipped ecu coming soon though.
