i have a 1992 civic hatchback with an h22a motor in it and im having some problems with it. the car use to drive fine no problems what so ever but now its not doing so good. sometimes i can start the car but other times i cant.....when i turn the key it doesnt even make a sound. i have to push start the car most of the time and when i drive it i cant turn it off or it wont turn back on again. does anybody have an idea what it might be

 

Did you check the starter????

Is your battery good?
Is your Alt good?
Are you sure your starter is good?

 

i would check ur ignition switch dat sounds like ur prob and get someone to turn the switch 2 make sure u are geting fire to the starter if it doesnt then dats ur prob

 

my car used to be that i would have to pop start it so go anywhere, it was my battery was bad, it didnt hold charge i got a new one for $60 w/ 1 yr warrenty

 

have battery checked. also check engine ground.

Who did the swap? WHen they extended the alternator wires did they solder and heat shrink? If not check em all to make sure there is no loose or faulty connections. Sounds to me the wire job was junk and your alternator isnt charging... from my eg h22 experience thats the first thing i would check.

 

oh and check and clean your battery terminals too. replace if neccesary
