I bought some OBX Headers and I want to know how laborous the install will be. Am I going to need to raise my car on a garage lift for this or what?

98 Accord 4 Cyl. 2.3L

Altezza Tailights

 

its not that hard. took me about an hour to do mine.
raising the front end makes it 1000% easier.
take the manifold bolts off first, then get the ones at the cat.
take in mind you will need to seperate the oem 2 piece to get the top half off.

 

first off, its not too hard to swap out. secondly, good luck with your obx purchase. they are not a recommend brand to buy. too many concerns to really bother with.

 

I've had a good experience with my obx header...

Its not a difficult job to install it, but it might just be time consuming due to stubborn bolts. Theres really not much too it, just takin off bolts and the pipes come out... only thing I can point out tho is when you're putting the new header on and attaching it to the block, tighten the bolts starting from the middle of the header and work your way out towards the ends. That will ensure there is no exhaust leak in that connection.

Oh and you will definately need to jack up the front of the car and put it on jack stands, you gotta crawl under there.

 

Jeez, jack the car up, unbolt the old header and install the new one. Don't forget how you did it because a few months later you may have to take it back out when it cracks. How much power did those headlights and taillights give you?

 

Well then who do you suggest I get headers from? I need some ceramic ones. O and BTW the Head and Tailights did'nt add any power you smart-***. LOL

 

Well, a decent cheap header would be Megan Racing...look on eBay for them. Not sure if they have ceramic coated or not...but why do you need that?

 

IMO youd do be better with keeping the stock header on...they are very comparable to DC sports. First IMO OBX IS CRAP!!!! I had a meagen header in mb GSR eg and it brouck on the exhaust flange twice! I had to get it re welded at 50 bucks a pop.....but yeah OBX is crap...

6th gen exhaust manifolds are very restrictive and suck *****. Also the DC sports is a 4-2-1 design is it not? I had very noticable gains after installing an obx header... top end is great now. I haven't come across anyone yet who hates their obx header, I know a lot of people have had trouble with other obx products but it seems they make their headers ok, mine is good atleast.

All Megan Racing headers are polished stainless steel, no ceramic coating option.
