Default Problems mounting slicks

Hello, I posted this in wheel and tire, but hopefully I can get some input from the other racers...

I have some lenso VPD's and M&H 22x8x13's. I got one mounted fine, but the other one's front bead will not pop! It will go 3/4 the way around, and then just start pushing out the sidewall. I only go up to 30 psi tops. I tried spraying on soapy water, but it didn't work. I must have struggled with this one for 3 hours! I tried flipping the tire, as well. Any suggestions? I would like to hit a test and tune before CMI's. Thanks!

Ok, worth a shot. Just bounce it from waist level or so? 40 won't stretch or pop them will it?

Try this...

Get some Pestone starter fluid, spray a **** on of it in where you want the bead to seat, then take a match and throw it at where you just sprayed the starter fluid and it will "explode" the tire on to the bead.

Old four wheeling trick for if your tires come off the bead from too little PSI

hmm, I've seen that before, but I don't know since I just threw down a grip on these. Maybe I'd try it on my wife's car!

WE had problems as well. A lot of lube on the rim and the bead, valve out of the stem, and the cheetah worked for us.

Use a cheetah if you have one.

If the bead seems to be getting hung on the wheel then try using alot of lube on the wheel and the tire.

Some just take alot of pressure to seat, it won't hurt the tire. Just seat it and let the air out.

I had the same problem when mounting my slicks because the center bubbles up then the bead don't pop. Don't laugh beacuse it worked for me and if I had to do it again I will.
Lots of lube on the bead, on the empty slick mounted on the wheel I took a chain and put it arround the center of the tire with a lock filled the tire up to 38psi and it finaly popped looked freekin scarry but it worked a nice thick solid chain.

POP! got it! Took a lot of grease, a tie down strap, and 45 psi, but it finally went. That bastard better never come off! I'll just toss the wheels when I need new slicks

Thanks for all the help, you guys are the heat!

It looked scary, but it took less air because the chain does not give and it kept the center from bubbling out.

I got the idea from a truck shop, I saw them strap one those big truck tires from the center so it can sit on the wheel but they did not use a chain it was a nylon strap thats all I had in the shop a tow truck chain.
