i believe 96-98 honda's are obd2a... the plugs should be different also
hope you find the right ecu.. try the civic hatchback ecu's.. what's the code on the ecu you have?

Honda started using OBD-II on Civics in 1996. Your del Sol is an S trim so it has the same motor and ECU as the 1996-2000 Civic DX. You need the P2E OBD-II ECU.
