Radio Resets Everytime
I just put in a new head unit into my 00 civic si. The problem was that the radio was resetting everytime i turned the car off.
So i did some searches and found the two fuses i should have:
fuse # 47- 7.5 amp
fuse # 28- 10 amp
I was missing the #47 fuse so i got one and put it in.
The problem is when i have a #47 fuse my radio just never turns off. Even after i turn off ignition and take the key out.
What could be the problem? If its wiring how would i go about checking it? Cause obviously the radio is getting power.
Could it be that the wires for acc(main radio power) and constant power(presets ect) are switched...which would explain why the radio stays on after the car is off?

yes...you most likely have the radio's ACC and constant wires switched. the constant power IS your main radio power that keeps your presets etc....ACC just turns it on when you turn the key on.

so the problem im havin is probably cause i got those two switched?
im juss askin wat u think the chances of it bein that cause takin apart the whole front dash is annoyin to get at teh radio

who put the radio in for you?
if you mixed up those 2 wires you basically have no choice in the matter but to take the dash apart and make things right. you should be using an interface harness like this one

if not...you made it way too hard on yourself...it cuts the install time in half so you don't have to hardwire it into the stock harness....it's just matching up the new radio's wiring harness to that harness color-for-color and plug plug and you're done. it's way neater and better cuz if you decide to change your radio in the future or your radio breaks and is unrepairable...you'll have no choice but to remove it and rewire everything...after repeating this a few times...the stock harness tends to get very short and a real pain to work with. interface harness FTW!

a friend of mine did it. I did give him a wiring harness. He told me some ish about a wire was shorted/needing to be re-run which is why im its not gettin power for preset after i turn the car off. possibe?
i believed him before...but after bout a month of him bsin bout fixin it i started thinkin he prolly juss f'd up somewhere and doesnt want to admit it.
so started doin some research n im tryin to find out whether it could be anything i could fix real quick (fuses/anything other then removing everything) that he might have messed up on.
I kno chances are im gonna have to check the wires but im juss tryna cover all my bases on everything else before i check them

he's giving you BS
seems by what u r telling me that he prolly put both the new radio's red (acc) and yellow(memory) wire together and attached them to the red (acc) wire of the interface harness. this will allow your radio to turn on and work...but will lose all your presets and **** when you kill the key. break out the screwdriver and start pulling the dash out cuz fuses and **** won't help you here. just take your time and try not to kill him.
if you got pics of the **** installed and of the harness after you pull the dash...post em up before you start your fix procdure...i'll help as much as i can. usually you can tell just by looking at the harness...but i, or any of the HT stereo Veterans, can tell you to confirm it as well.
if you can provide pics or links to them, i could tell you in about .5 seconds if your boy fukked up on you.
