Start with MM&Y of the car.
Make and model of HU, [radio]?
Are there amps, aftermarket speakers, subs?
And just to be clear, is it just the "radio", [AM/FM] that will not turn on or is it the HU itself, nothing turns on, no lights or display?
There are three things a HU needs to work, ground, 12V+ acc. power, [fused in under dash fuse box] and 12V+ constant power, [normally fused in engine bay fuse box.

Did you connect the ant. control lead up, if I remember right, the 05 Civic has an "amplified" ant., you will need to connect the blue lead, [ant. control] from the HU to the blue lead of the harness adapter.
