Radio looses memory
Well i blew a radio fuse (7.5 Amps) under my hood so after i replaced it the HU (Panasonic CQ-C5310U) doesn't hold the memory or anything. When ever i start the car the head unit will reset and go through the test all over again. I have checked the fuse under the dash and behind the radio and those are all ok. So im guessing that it is something wrong with the constant power source under the fuse box where it is connected. Any other suggestions?
TIA

Pull the HU and check for constant power on the Panasonics yellow wire, at the plug going into the HU, if there is power there the problem is in the HU, if there is no power there, recheck the 7.5A fuse that you replaced, make sure it was not DOA.
Normally for today's HUs the 7.5A fused constant power is not enough, if you are using the HUs internal amp.
I would suggest that you run a fused 12ga or 10ga from the batt. to the yellow wire of the HU, [just like you would to an amp], even if it was working before, the HU was not getting all the power it needed, running the power wire from the batt. will improve SQ.

alright thanks i will chech that in the morning.
P.S. thanks for the help on the extra alarm siren using the relay i got it all working and its LOUD as a Mother F*cker

Aren't there extra spots under the steering wheel for extra const. power, and acc., etc. Could you run a wire from that extra slot to the HU, using, say, a 7.5A fuse?
How much better would that sound over just using the harness?

Usually there are plenty of constant 12v sources near the fuse box. Test the wires with a digital meter. this is a lot simpler then running a wire thru the firewall. If this doesn't work something might have gotten damaged in ur deck.

yeah, I had this happen to me before. The only reason for youe HU to loose memory and such is if it's not wired to the main (red) and the constant (yellow) correctly. Basically your just turning it on and off without saving. Check to see if your wiring harness is wired to the same colors.
