Default car backfiring like crazy on 15psi.

So i put a 1 bar spring in my w/g and i am still having the problem where the boost gauge is reading 10psi but it sure as hell is pulls like 15psi. Sometimes between 5k to redline it will start back firing like crazy. But it only happens sometimes. Other times it will pull all the way to redline smooth as hell. I do have a check engine light comming on when i put the key into the on position and going off when the car is started. It throws a 4 code (crankshaft positioning sensor). Could this have anything to do with the problem i am having? Plugs, cap and rotor are new so it isnt missing. (almost 100% sure it isnt a miss fire). Any input would be great.

the car has been tuned by xenocron in New Jersey with a road tune. The motor is built and ran CHAMP after it was tuned. just until this problem has started occuring. I had a 9psi spring in the tial w.g with a turbo xs boost controller and this problem started happening. So i figured the boost controller was just bad so i figured just put a 14.7 psi spring in. Unlike when the boost controller and 9psi spring was in the car no longer does it all the time though. I have tried all sorts of different things and i just am stumped. I think i am gonna just have to save up and have it dynoed at his shop now because he just got a dyno. Just makes me mad because i spent the money to have it tuned and now it needs it again? I am just so confused as to what to do. I am gonna drive the car around tomorrow and see how it works.

Do you have a wide ban hooked up????? Try gapping to the plugs down, maybe you're blowing out the spark.

plugs are gapped to 25ish. They came pre gaped. tey are the plugs my tuner sells. I had the bkr7e's in there but when we were tuning it was breaking up a bit. I have a code four so i think i need to replace the dizzy and it should clear the problem up. Drove the car all day today and didnt have one problem with the car. pulled through gears to redline like nothing. The w.g is definitly opened up completely at about 5,000rpm in 2nd and the gauge is only reading 11ish. Gauge must be broken. Although when the car has a 9psi spring in there it reads accuratly. anyone have this problem?

This would be the first thing i would suspect...its either a loose or corroded wire, or actually a bad sensor in the distributor.

If the distributor isnt getting the right signals, or is interpreting them incorrectly...it wont always fire the spark correctly.
