Default Im done with it. Lost power for no reason.

Alright I was driving normally wednesday morning when the car lost power and started sputtering like it was down a cylinder. All the plugs are firing and Ive got compression on all cylinders, not sure how much. I just stuck the plug wire back on and turned it over. All jumped about the same, 3-4 feet in the air.

For the last month Ive had 3 chech engine lights codes, one for the MAF sensor, MAP sensor, and something about it running lean. All those started when I did my head gasket. I had the MAP and MAF plugs crossed. But it ran just the same so I never worried with it.

Whats wrong with this POS?

Honda does not use MAF sensors on the D, B, H, or F engines and that i am sure of, your MAP sensor pinouts are more than likely wrong, and that could throw the code for lean because the PCM thinks the sensor works, but it is out of range, so it suspends it, throws a code, and throws a too lean code (probably because you got the 5v reference wire feeding back into the PCM which indicates WOT, if o2 does not indicate a rich condition, it will throw a code for too lean, Honda's are always rich at WOT), so your car runs rich as a pig.

Ok, then the sensor or what ever it is on the side of the TB is the one I got swtiched with the MAP. Someone told me that was a MAF but I just looked up a MAF for it and its not listed. Hes a dumbass.

But how could the pinouts be wrong if it ran fine for a month after swapping the 2 plugs the the right sensor? Again this was just a sudden thing.

If it is a sudden thing, and you have spark at all the plugs, ensure your gap is correct.

Oh, and i don;t know what you meant by jumping 3-4 feet in the air, but if you pulled the plug wires off and let them arc a long distance to make sure you had spark, you've probably caused permanent damage to the coil.

Make sure your connectors are all correct, and clear the ECU of all codes it is throwing, and try again. If you are misfiring it will throw a code for that as well, make sure you take note of that.

Plugs are fine, its a fuel issue. Just watch the vid

whats your compresion numbers? check your timing belt, to see if the engine jumped timing. hondas arent suppose to sound like wrx's, if they do then somethings wrong. mine sounded like a wrx when i bent all of my intake valves.

Timing is the first thing I checked. But you can hear when you hit that sweet spot it sounds perfect.

Im not sure what compression is, I havent been able to get it to the shop to check that.

I highly doubt that is a fuel problem, either an injector works, or it doesn't. They can leak but they do it over a period of time, much longer than a few days. My best guess is you have an intermittent connection or high resistance in your ignition system. It made one good pull, then fell to **** again, so a compression test would not yield anything productive.

Check you make sure all your connections are solid, that you have no water in the cap of your dizzy (happens more than you think) If you tampered (or someone tampered) with your ignition or injector harness, give it a thorough inspection to make sure everything is still good. Are you throwing any new codes, you should be throwing something for a misfire like that....
