Running rich - Map sensor? Code 3
I recently did a B16A swap on my 93 del sol Si, and it's running extremely rich, black soot coming out of the exhaust, my plugs are carbon fouling within minutes, car is also ticking , tick gets faster with engine speed - sounds more like ignition issue than valves.
I've got a code 3 - which is related to the MAP sensor - My question is: could a bad MAP sensor cause all these issues including the ticking? Spark looks a bit weak on cylinder 4. Is my current map sensor incorrect for the B16A? Part number on the current MAP is 079800-2500 PS30, do I need a 079800-3280 PS30 or some other part perhaps?? Is there a way to tell if the MAP is functioning properly and perhaps something else is throwing code 3? And lastly - the map plugs into the IM on the top/passenger side?
Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks!

Re: (Endo-land)
That fixed code 3,was a broken wire to map sensor.. still running very rich though. reset ecu - still rich. any ideas? No CEL's any more. Wires running to MAP are white, Yellow:Red, Green: white, to TPS are red:blue, yellow:white, green:white. Those are correct?
Would a bad 02 make me run THIS rich?? I tested it using propane and a voltmeter and it measured properly although was a big sluggish to drop back to low readings when heat was removed - about 4 seconds.
Any other ideas?

Re: (SilverShot)
more info: Map sensor reads 2.5v/5v/0v on the three wires w/ key in second position, engine off - TPS reads from .4v-4.5v/5v/0v on 3 wires w/ key in second position, engine off (.4v-4.5v w/ throttle in dif positions, smooth climb, looks good)

Re: (SilverShot)
Bump!
tested ECT sensor, Map sensor, tps, o2 sensor, so far and everything checks except o2 is somewhat sluggish - can that cause me to run this rich?
Can anyone think of anything else that I should check that might make my car run rich/ foul all plugs within minutes?
