Default possible VSS problem?

Sup y'all. OK, here we go.

I changed out the original tranny on my GSR with another GSR tranny, and since then the speedometer, odometer and trip meter stopped working, and VTEC dissapeared as well. Helms said to check the fuse before anything, so I switched it out, and the trip meter, odometer and vtec came back, but the speedometer would act wacky, bouncing around whenever i revved passed 4. Any ideas? Thnx in advance.

Did you short something out? My friend had a similar problem he shorted something out changing his distributor. (don't know how that happens but yeah it happen!) his tach started going crazy after that. He replaced his cluster and everything worked perfect. Have you tried resetting the ecu?

nah, I haven't tried that yet, but the entire cluster works, except for the speed guage. I have another cluster laying around, I'll try it just to eliminate that possibility. Thnx. Anyone esle?

I had the same problem. Try reseting the ecu, and if that doesn't help your situation then try switching the VSS for another one of your friends car or something. It fixed my problem

Try unplugging the VSS and plugging it back in. Sounds simple but I had the same problem with the speedo not working and bouncing around. Just replugged it back in and works fine till this day.

OK, so I've checked the fuse, I've tried another working speed sensor, and like everytime before, everthing else will work for about 2 miles except the speedometer, the speedometer just acts wacky. After about 2 miles or so, the speedometer, odometer, trip meter and vtec just all stop working or go away. Could it be possible that the cause of it is the speedometer on the cluster itself? I have a buddy who told me he had the same problem, bought a new cluster, and problem solved. I'm trying another cluster tomorrow, but what do you guys think?
