knock sound H22
swap was running fine then one day it started knocking... felt around under car and it felt like it was coming from the clutch... so we just pulled the tranny off, clutch and flywheel and everything was ok...
is it possible that the balance shaft belt slipped and caused them to be out of alignment and make a knock sound??? it sounds like a bearing, only more hollow sounding.. doesnt make the knock at idle, but when you rev it up, it gets loud...
i guess the next step is putting it all back together and lookin at the other side and seeing how the belts look...
any ideas?? there was lots of oil goin to the head, so i dont think it is a spun bearing...

i have been through 3 h22 motors so far and all of them all of a sudden started making a knocking noise. all were spun bearing...but i was hittin way to high RPMS for the motor b/c of my dumbass tryn to run it with a bad trans. and i would miss gears alot! and it would hit some high RPMs
well the car is owned by a guy that had a non vtec d series b4 so im sure he's been hitting 8k on the regular... ive seen him do it a few times... im gonna be checking on the balance shafts today...
now that i think about it.. the car was gettin real hard to start like it was seizing up... i guess we'll find out in a few hours
