I need some help!!
I just changed the head gasket on my 95 honda civic 1.5 liter engine. The intake and exhaust manifold are screwed in fine. All the hoses have connected. The distributor has also been re-installed with the same wires, I changed the spark plugs to NGK.
The engine is turning but will not start, the car is also a 5 spd. Why is this happening?

 

Are you getting spark? Is the distributor 180 deg out of phase?

 

does it hav spark? fuel? i would check that in order 2 narrow it down 2 find the problem..

 

how do i check to see if there is a spark?

 

did u make sure u were at TDC and got the timing right?

 

i made sure it was at top dead center... what's a vtak? i'm thinking the wires need to be changed

does the check engine light stay on or does it turn off ?
also check the ground wire at the thermostat housing

if the ground wire is not bolted down it will not ground the main relay and you will not be able to get the car started. the dist is almost impossiable to get 180 deg off unless you took the dist apart and removed the keyed gear.

 

everything is grounded, i did take off the distributor, but i inserted it back into the camshaft

 

I almost forgot, when the engine is cranking the check engine light comes on

 

if you turn the key on does the light turn off or stay on with out cranking the starter ?

 

the engine cranks then the check engine light comes on
