wus up yall i just bought a car the other day and now it wont start what could it be. My friend thinks is the disterber cap that not fireing so what is yall opinion thanks,,

When you go to start it does it crank at all?????? and if it does you can check the distributor out by pulling one of you spark plug wires and seeing if there is spark when ur cranking... You gotta be careful though or you can shock yourself pretty good...

 

it could be the coil in the distributor...im pretty much sure thats it or if your car dont even crank check out for the grounds...the most important ground is the one found on the thermostat....if it doesnt crank than get a thick speaker wire and directly ground it from the negative terminal straight to the thermostat housing ground! check! just my .2 cents

 

if there is no spark it could be the coil

 

need more detail.... if rotating... check for spark?/ .. put a srewdrive in teh spark plug wires and put the srew driver close to a metal... like a small gap to see if there spark when u try to crank it.... if no spark... test ur coil, i say its teh coil.. happen to me....

if there spark, check fuel> or else.. u might be off timinmg ot igniton modulator is bad... get that test at autozone for free

if it dont rotate then check for power, starter, ground, if its a 5spd, make sure is press all teh way in... if so and still dont work... check that clutch pedal switch.

make sure there gas.....hehee
