Default whats wrong with my setup?

well first off, i'm really upset with my numbers. i got my car tuned last month ( 2 leaks, one on the exhaust mani and one in the middle of the exhaust ) and i was very discombobulated.
granted i was only at 6 psi (wg spring), but i only made 180whp / 140tq on stock internals. wtf is wrong? i see people like making 200+whp on stock internals with the same setup...

my setup consists of these things:
usdm gsr
greddy 18g turbo
b&n fpr
ETD (dont think it matters)
dsm 450's
walbro 255
2.5 -> 3 in DP
2.5 in exhaust
precision 375hp fmic
vortech BOV

and it was tuned with hondata s200b all options.

either my car is a POS or the tuner didn't know hondata that well.
it was freddy from SpeedQuest that tuned my car.

oh. and i did fix the leaks. now im just saving up $$ to get it retuned @ 8psi, but i just wanted to know why i am making nothing in terms of power.

god damn that is way off, sounds like major boost leaks or the motor is a peice of ****. Cheak everything possible for leaks cracks and so on, but turning the boost up will be a large factor on that setup to make more power, but even at 6psi you should be making well over 200whp on a GSR with an 18G...

exactly.

well it's weird too, because on a full bolt on / afc tune i was only making 150 / 120.

even though i DID have two leaks, do you think i could have lost that much power?

Leaks will rob power, the larger the leak the more power you lose

Leaks will kill power and the more you make the more a leak will hurt you.

yeah. i just need to get my car re-tuned. i mean, i was missing 2 bolts from the manifold, and it was side by side. i was also missing a gasket on my exhaust.

i'm going to get my car re-tuned by superdave, because i know he knows what he's doing.

how did the afr's look? even thou with 2 leaks exactly at the head it will throw the afr's a real lot off... u did a **** poor job at putting it together leaving those nuts out and having leaks and then blame the tuner... yeah he has a little to blame... i WOULD NEVER TUNE a car in that shape... specially with leaks before the turbo.

I would say your about 30ish HP/ 30ish TQ off.

I made 238/175 with basic same setup using a SC44 81.5 GSR.

well it wasn't just that. i paid the tuner to fix the leaks, or just "do what he can" to make everything better. and i paid him to put on the exhaust cuz it needed to be extended. there were 2 bolts for the manifold that were stripped, so i needed to get those bolts extracted, which never happened.

the sc44 is bigger than the 18g though, right?

hmm.. did boost hold at 6lbs even with the exhaust manifold leak? when did boost come in? Was it a major exhaust manifold leak? the most probably cause of ur low hp, like everyone exclaimed is due to ur exhaust leaks b4 the turbo. With 6lbs u should be at least 240-250 if not more! and as a side note... ur and idiot for bringing in a car thats not fully done

yeah to the best of my knowledge but at those boost levels its not gonna be that much different and also i gave you a cushion for that very reason i said 30ish instead of 40 ish you are 40ish lower than me.

I agree. Should went over everything and make sure there is no problem with it before taking it to the dyno. Can't blame nobody except yourself. I believe the tuner did the best he can with what he have to work with. Let this be a lesson learn.

this is true.
but i didn't bring it in just for a dyno tune.
i asked to get everything that was messed up fixed, which includes my leaks. did they do their job? no.
