Default El Gauge Write-up

Ok, i've searched and searched and everywhere i go says that thier is a bunch of write ups on the swap but i can't find any links to go to one.

I have a lude with EL's
and a Lude without EL's

i want to swap the gauges into the different ludes

but everyone is like, oh just take out your dash harness and plug and play..

but i would like to have a step by step guid that i could follow, before i go screwing something up

so..anybody have any links to any write ups on swapping el's?

ok... ijust did this swap about 3 months ago and heres my shot from memory:

1) remove the tweeter speakers and unplug them.
2) pull out the sunroof/cruise/brightness switches and unplug them
3) unscrew the long plastic piece along the top edge of the gauges and smoked dash
4) pull off the small trim piece along the bottom edge of the gauges and smoked dash
5) remove the small plastic divider between the gauges and passenger side dash
6) unscrew the passenger side smoked dash (will come out as just the glass cover)
7) unscrew and unplug the clock assembly (white box holding a black box)
8) unscrew and unplug the indicator lights (gas/CEL/cruise/brake lights etc..)
9) unscrew and unplug the gauge cluster (speedo and tach), remove my tilting top back, and pulling bottom out first if i remember right). you should now see the dash harness running across the dash.
10) remove a bunch of lower plastic interior panels (by drivers knees) and glove box. this is all pretty easy to just look for screws and take them out.
11) unplug (3 plugs i think) the dash harness on the drivers side. it plugs in down by ur left foot near the fuse box.
12) unplug the dash harness on the passenger side (2 plugs i think for the no EL harness thats already in ur car)
13) unclip all the ziptie clips holding the harness across the top of the dash. theres one or two kinda back in the tweeter area to get too!
14) pull the driver side of the harness up thru the opening near the driverside tweeter.
15) pull the passenger side of the harness up thru the opening near the passenger side tweeter
16) do everthing in reverse for the EL harness
17) parts to swap over in place of stock 92/93 parts: gauges with silver inverter box, harness, clock assembly (black box behind clock).
18) last step, before u put the glove box back in... youll notice there is one small plug that seems to be extra on the EL harness hanging (in area above passengers right foot). splice into the black wire on this and ground it anywhere. this makes ur blinkers work right)

Any thats all i can remember. anyone feel free to add and ill edit this post.

If you need info on the wiring here...i worked through it a few years ago.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1099727

There are 2 plugs on the top (one 10 pin with a full harness and one 6 pin with no harness), and 1 plug on the side (16 pin connector which is used only with a automatic transmission).

The top 10 pin connector has the coding:

1- tachometer
2- ?
3- ?
4- ?
5- speedometer
6- ground
7- ?
8- ?
9- 4ws
10- power

The top 6-pin

1- blinker
2- high beam
3- high beam
4- blinker
5- ?
6- ground

I have also not yet determined where the lights and dimmers connect...but there are not that big of a deal.

Cheers
