PLEASE HELP!!! car will not go into any gears!!
tried searching for it and i got nothing about cable transmissions. it's a cable b16 in a DA integra. it goes into all the gears when car is off but it will not go into any gears when the car is on. it barely goes into reverse but when i do try to put it in reverse, it grinds really bad. also when i start the car in 1st gear and release the brakes while my foot is still on the clutch, it move already as if the clutch was not down. i'm stumped and tired for the moment but please any input would be GREAT!!!!
the springs on your clutch broke. You need to replace your clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. Happened to my brother last month. same problem oh and on my brothers car the flywheel got messed up too because of the piece of spring bouncing around. you might have to get a new flywheel too depending on if its damaged.
check your master and slave cylinders...if they are leaking change them. If thats not it check your clutch...its probably that... I have a similar problem and ti was my master cylinder and i wasted money changing out my clutch and all the other BS.
my buddy just had the same problem exactly and we pulled his trans off and found both his bearings were completely shot.... his was doing the exact same as you say yours is doing... but previously said though it also may be the springs in your clutch are shot or broken...

He's got a CABLE transmission. Back to the op, try adjusting the clutch cable tighter till you get a good tension when depress on the clutch cable.
i say its your clutch....had a da in last week with same symtoms, tried adj clutch cable and it felt good for a couple of miles then it went back to the same not going into gear/grinding slightly....so i changed the clutch assembly out and clutch feels perfect, shifting normal, and no grinds/noises at all.
that happen to me, it's the springs in your clutch, they came out. drop the tranny and see what damage it cause and replace it.
it's actually a common problem with stock clutch disc to do something like this. the hub is really weak and can't handle the instantaneous shock when you're shifting fast. but usually the spring will just get weak and just cause the clutch it slip, but this can happen too.

exactly. my friend had the same problem. he couldn't get into any gear at all. at first he thought it was the clutch slave cylinder (i'm aware you have a cable tranny, that was just his first thought on his 95 gsr), and after dropping the tranny the throwout bearing wasn't in the best of shape and one of the springs in the clutch was like a day away from literally just falling out into the tranny. a piece of it actually already did.
i'd drop that tranny if i were you before the problem becomes worse.

thanks for all the input guys. i'm not quite sure what was wrong but i got it working. i just took the shifter cable off then put it back on and it started working fine. i guess you just had to play with it for a little bit. lol!
