ok so here is the deal i have a b18a1 with a jdm xsi ys tranny, it has a act heavy duty pressure plate, and a exedy flywheel,stage 3 disk

here is my problem, when the car is off the shifter shifts into gears fine, when i turn the car on, the car doesnt want to go into gears, the whole clutch assembly has 8k on it, pretty new, only sumtimes this happens, when it doesnt happen i took it out and tested the car to see how the clutch felt and how everything felt

no gears grind,the clutch doesnt slip at all what so ever, pulls very hard

i do not know what this is, it seems like the pressure plate isnt disengauging to let me shift into gears, or the clutch cable isnt working right

but, when you do get it into first and the pedal is down it wants to go on its own, it rolls and the pedal is all the way down

can anyone help me i cant figure this out at all, ive adjusted the clutch cable, loosed it ,tightend it, i dono if the clutch cable is stretched out or what, PLEASE HELP ME

also, when i am driving the car, and i want to downshift, i put the pedal in, and i proceed to shift it into gear, it doesnt want to go , and when i try, the idel bogs down, also when i get the car into gear. the idel sometimes also bogs down, seeming for no reason?

sounds like your clutch cable has too much slack in it. You need to tighten it up. Now when you push in the clutch you are only partially disengaging the clutch.

my car did the same thing i pulled the clutch out and found out i was shiped the wrong one it was just alittle to big so i called them and they shiped me the right one and now the car is perfect. the i noticed this was that when i pulled the clutch out i looked at the pressure plate and thedowel pins where grinding off.

thing is the clutch has 8k on it so its pretty new, even when i tighten the clutch cable, its still hard to put into gear, but if i put it into gear start it and go off in 2nd, every gear shifts fine... makes no sense to me

those cars are known for the clutch cable stretching out over time. Replace the cable and see where that gets you.
