After installing my new b18b1 in my ej I am throwing a code for 21 (vtec spool sol.) Im running a chipped p06 converted to vtec as well because I originally had a z6 motor. The chip is just a b18 base map with vtec disabled.....any ideas why the computer is still looking for vtec?

 

I'd be willing to bet you clipped the wrong jumper when disabling VTEC, or burned the wrong basemap.

 

Unless you desolder the VTEC controls the ecu will look for VTEC

 

Well I put in a crome chip with the same map instead of uberdata and the cel went away. Another reason why crome>uberdata.
