Default B18C1 vs B16A2

In terms of structure, is there any real difference b/w these two BLOCKS. Now just in terms of the block and the way its made is the B18 superior to the B16. Obviously its a 1.8 vs a 1.6. But say you were goin to sleeve and bore either to a 2.0. Would one be superior to the other? I've been wanting to get a B18C1 block and mate it with the pr3 head I already have from my b16. I want to boost by next summer, but have somethin to play with in the mean time. Would it be easier and just as effecient to sleeve and bore my b16 block instead of taking the time to find a B18 block, sleeve and bore that? Thanks for any help.

Can't bore out the 1.6 to 2.0. Cylinder walls will be non-existant.

Get a b18 block.

b16 block is shorter

basically the same

you can go 2L if you get custom pistons and rods with b18 crank and sleeved to 85mm

GS-R block bored out to 2.0L = the hotness. And theres a bit more difference between the blocks than just the B16 block being shorter...

Yep, like rods, crank, head. To name a few.

I think he's confusing the B16B block and the ITR block.

I don't know if that was directed towards me but no I'm not confusing the B16B and the B18C5. I was just talkin about the blocks, not including the heads. Either way I was provided the answer I needed.

No, that was directed at 94typeR. But you got your answer so this thread can die, and go into the world of archived search threads and someday be used by someone else (In a perfect world, more than likely someone will just make this topic all over again)!
