Default how much will and OBD1 help?

If i converted from the obd2 to the obd1 will i notice and dramatic changes in speed or quarter/ 8th mile times? also i know the obd2 tries to over power air mods by adding too much fuel...with this stop me from running so rich? thanks for any advice/input.

the only reason people put the 1 in vs. the 2 is because it is easier to reprogram for cams etc. The 2 is a very resillent little bugger and can foil the best laid programs

i've heard that with I/H/E an OBDI computer will put down 5-6hp over the OBDII i havent seen the charts but i've heard this several times, secondly whenever i race OBDII tegs with equal mods i pull hard. i'd say for 200 its worth it.

What do you need to convert to OBD1 besides the Skunk2 (or whatever brand you choose) harness? Do you also need a OBD1 ECU?

I don't buy that OBDI vs. OBDII thing. It was a myth created in a ricer mag when they modded two cars and the OBDI car came out a little faster. No two cars ever respond the same, and had the OBDII car been faster then everyone would be converting their OBDI cars to OBDII. It is true that the OBDI car was faster when they did that, but they failed to tell everyone in some cases the OBDII car is faster. They just wanted to look great by looking like they solved this incredible mystery when nobody ever checked it out to see if they were actually right.
