Default Why convert to OBD1?

This has been bugging the hell out of me for the past few weeks (can you tell I a Honda noob?)... but what are the advantages to converting a OBD2 car to an OBD1 computer? I have looked at Hondata and I see that you have to convert, but I am wondering the actual reason besides 'it makes more power'...
