transmission will not hold the cv axle ????
yea, so i just picked up a clean EJ8 (96 coupe), and the seller claimed his mechanic didn't put the axle in properly so he was selling it cheap.. well i got it to my house and went to fix the axle, and noticed it wouldn't go in all the way, and the gear that turns the axle inside is loose..
i tried lining that gear up and pushed the axle in, put everything back together and the first turn i made the axle popped back out.. what the hell would cause this? I guess I need another tranny

i had the problem once... does the axle just slide in or do u need to hit it a little bit? try bending the cir clip sout some so it has a little more to catch on.. thats what i did and it worked fine

it wiggles
when i was trying to put the axle in at first i noticed there was a lip on the differential splines that kept the axle from seating past the clip, then i had a friend turn the driver side wheel and it lined up.. i could move it up and down with my finger

That's what happens when you run a trans low on oil. Well at least you got a good deal on the car now you just need to find a new trans or rebuild that one
