Nitrous!! help
hey everyone my friend wants to know if he has a gsr stock bore fully built bottom end 8:1cr fully built head ect. whats the biggest shot of nitrous he can use? he was told by a few shop local shops that he can safely run a 250 shot and this came from 3 different shops who build hondas whats yall thoughts on this neone?
I would just put a turbo on that motor but i had a friend run a 150 progressive shot on a built stock comp ls/ vtec but lower comp motor on nitrous is a waste

I'd go turbo. Built bottom end, 7 9street nd 12 on track. If your gonna spray, I'd have 150 shot and wait till 2nd or 3rd to use it. Chances are, you wont be hooking up till 3rd neway. Let us know what happens.

ok well he would go turbo but he has a nitrous kit already and he needs to save before he can get all the stuff to turbo it and what not and i of course know that the higher the compression the better output you get out of nitrous but in a low cr motor you can run more nitrous a lot more nitrous which is y he wants to put the 250 on it he's got a gs-r with a small port n polish and fully built basically all it needs it sleeves and a turbo but he doesnt have the money for it yet and he already has the nitrous kit so nemore thaughts before i give him the ok
That engine won't make any power unless it's running nitrous all the time or strictly a track (drag) car. It's not practical to run a car like that on the street unless you go turbo since it sounds like that's what it was built for anyway. Can you run 250 hp shot? we don't know exactly what was done to the engine so there's no way we could give you an honest answer. At the track maybe, but not safely on the street and that's what I think you're asking. Street motors only run nitrous like 1% of their operating time, so if you have low compression, you have a slow and lazy car on the street.
well if im not street racing why would it matter... its going to be run at the track which is what the nitrous will be for and i did note what the motor has if you read the posts
