Default How to replace alternator on 93 Civic?

I took a look the other day and it seems like the space is really tight. I was able to loosen the top adjusting bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket, but it seems like there's no way I can reach the bottom bolt.

How do I remove this thing??

yeah, you have to go in from under....and its still a bit of a pain in the *** - have to wiggle it around and try different angles to get it out and back in

there is a 14mm nut and a long bolt on the alternator mount, tilt the alternator back to remove the belt there is no tensiorner so make sure you have a pry bar or long screw driver to re tension the alternator when reinstalling, i always find it easier to remove the entire bracket with the altornator keep the mount there, but take the bolt out with the nut, and i belive it is a 14mm bolt on the block near the timing cover (on the backside) of the block

If you take off the top bracket and move the MC from the BB you could take it from the top.

You have to move the left driveshaft out of the way. It's like this for all 88-95 civics.

It says this in the book for 96-00 as well...but i was able to pull it out from the top after pulling my strut tower bar, and moving a few other things out of the way...a lot easier than pulling the axle IMO
