LS tranny on my b16??

Default LS tranny on my b16??

ok so i have a 88 hatch si

it currently has a jdm b16a with a b16 tranny that grinds 3rd and has no 4th.

i can get an ls tranny..

how big is the difference from the ls to the b16 tranny?

thx dude.. but im not really sure what all the number mean.. not to savvy with this stuff. i was just wondering how the drive would be.

like would it bring donw the power of the motor if i have an LS tranny on it?

I look at it this way...kinda riding a bike the bigger the chainring (higher gear ratio), the easier to pedal, higher rpm, lower top end (b16)
LS is the opposite...that's why most people running forced induction (turbo/supercharger) choose LS tranny to give them higher topend, since they have no problem turning the motor in lower gears...

*Your car may feel a bit slugish running an LS tranny especially if you have a stock B16...

The biggest problem with running an LS tranny with a B16 engine, is that you will drop out of VTEC between each shift while racing.

Yeah, the LS trans on an all motor B16 is a big no no unless you don't care about power.

thx for the advice guys!!
its just the tranny i have.... has no 4th gear at all..

and my 3rd gear is about to go out too. and i dont have 500$ for a good b16 tranny.. but a friend of mine said i can take his ls tranny off of him for like 100$

what u guys think?

well for now its the only car i have.. so yea it is my daily driver...

but i dont wanna be slow as beans..!!! but then again.. with out a 3rd and 4th gear im not really going anywhere!

for a 100$ you cant beat it. run it till you can get you a better one then sell it to somebody that has a turbo and thinks that longer geared trannys are better for turbo. maybe even make some money
