Hey guys, coming over here from the dsm forums because i'm looking to buy a 1995 civic with the D16Z6.

We were trying to start it and figured out it wasn't getting fuel--Replaced the fuel pump and now it gets fuel.

Now here is the problem....

This morning before we found out that the fuel pump was bad i put a new dist. cap/rotor/and coil on it because the guy that has the car gave the originals away. After getting everything put back together i pulled a plug to check for spark and it was getting spark.
Now after having chaged the fuel pump and trying to start it, it no longer gets spark.
I put a test light on the coil post to check the coil with the ignition on and the coil is carrying current. But, with the distributor and rotor on i put the test light through the test hole and lined up the rotor with the hole so the tip touched the rotor and the test light doesn't turn on. ??Like the current isn't carrying across the bridge in the dist. cap??? And i tried 2 different BRAND new dist. caps and rotors.
I'm stumped here and any direction would be greatly appreciated.

 

The guy that took the coil just cut it out. I know that the coil - wire goes to the last plug on the right on the ICM. But Does the positive wire split in with another wire and then go to the middle plug on the ICM?

Does anyone have a good picture of the dist. with the cap off or know where i could find one? I searched for a long time last night.
